Alpha Foundations Volunteers with Habitat for Humanity
The Alpha Foundations team is getting their hands dirty with Habitat for Humanity. As part of the companywide Build Together 2023 initiative, employees assisted in several home builds in their local communities.
The partnership is part of a $100,000 donation Groundworks, Alpha’s parent company, made to Habitat for Humanity International to support long-term stability through safe and affordable housing. In addition, it gives 4,500 employees the opportunity to volunteer in over 50 communities this year.
Orlando & Tampa
Alpha team members in Orlando and Tampa joined forces to work on a home in Apopka, Fla. Ten employees participated by installing siding for a new home in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka.
Their efforts were featured on Spectrum News 13.
“It is very exciting for us, so I can only imagine how the homeowner will feel,” said Kenny Kanline, General Manager of Alpha’s Orlando office. Employees also got the opportunity to write personalized messages on the interior of the home before construction is completed.
Jacksonville
The Jacksonville team had several employees build a home in Green Cove Springs for a deserving local family. Alpha partnered with Clay County Habitat for Humanity to construct the brand-new home.
This was the last day that volunteers would be coming to the site, and as a result, the homeowner was there to thank the volunteers personally for their assistance on her new haven.
Tallahassee
On November 3, employees from the Tallahassee office volunteered at a build in Pompano Beach. Partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Broward, volunteers spent an entire day installing siding and painting the interior.
“The Alpha team did an amazing job and helped empower those in need by helping to build decent affordable housing here in Broward County, FL.,” said Casey Huber, Director of Volunteer Engagement of HFH of Broward.
Miami
The next day, employees from Alpha’s Miami office teamed up with Rick Case Habitat for Humanity. 17 volunteers cut trim and wall panels for the home.
Employees were excited to participate, and their efforts were featured in The New Pelican.
Fort Myers
Fort Myers employees closed out Alpha’s builds by partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties. Employees assisted in installing insulation at a new home for a single mother and her children.
“Habitat’s mission is to bring people together to build homes, communities and hope,” said Habitat Donor Advancement Specialist Charles Padhaisky. “We’re grateful for the volunteer support from Alpha Foundations.”
